 His Excellency Mr. Yaser bin Ebrahim Humaidan, Chairman of the Tender Board, confirmed that the Board has achieved a remarkable record of positive performance indicators in terms of response speed to processing requests from partners, including government entities, suppliers and contractors during the first quarter of 2024. This achievement reflects the Board’s efforts to improve the response speed indicator as part of a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at ensuring the provision of services and the execution of government projects according to scheduled timelines to meet the needs of citizens and residents. This was achieved through enhancing response processes, simplifying administrative procedures, and increasing their effectiveness.

 

His Excellency indicated that the response speed index has increased, whereas 98.9% of requests being answered within 14 days or less from the date of receipt during the period from January to March 2024, compared to 91.2% in the same period in 2023. Of these, 89.3% were responded to within a week or less, compared to 64.2% last year. Humaidan emphasized the board's commitment to continuing to develop performance and enhance efficiency.

 

 

On his part, His Excellency Engineer Jamal Abdulaziz AlAlawi, Secretary General of the Tender Board, highlighted that the response speed index increased by 7.7% during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2023, despite a 44.2% increase in the number of requests received by The Board. The total number of application requests reached 4,135.

 

 

His Excellency also stressed the importance of continuing to enhance the efficiency of government tendering, procurement, and sales operations within legal frameworks and with full transparency and professionalism, encouraging more suppliers and contractors to participate in government tenders and purchases procedure.
