The Tender Board announced that it dispatched 575,969 electronic Notifications to suppliers and contractors through its electronic tendering system last year. This reflects the Board’s dedication to proactive communication with suppliers, enhancing transparency, safeguarding their rights, increasing participation in government tenders and auctions, and fostering competitiveness within the public sector.
The Notification comprised 524,074 Notifications regarding new tenders, aiming to inform suppliers and contractors of available opportunities and encourage competition. Additionally, 44,768 Notification served as reminders to submit bids within designated deadlines, contributing to improved compliance and smoother operations.
Following bid openings, 4,689 Notification were issued to reinforce transparency and procedural follow-up. Furthermore, 2,438 Notification were sent after the completion of bid evaluation, ensuring the credibility and clarity of the evaluation results for all suppliers and contractors.
His Excellency Eng. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of the Tender Board, affirmed that these electronic notifications strengthen contracting entities' commitments to completing bid evaluations and submitting recommendations within established timeframes. This approach facilitates the smooth flow of procedures at all stages of government tenders and auctions, from initial submission to final award.
Such initiatives are fundamental to improving the efficiency of government tenders and auctions, bolstering compliance, and accelerating workflow. They also provide precise performance indicators for monitoring procedures and preventing delays, supporting the national drive towards developing digital government services and establishing principles of transparency.
The Secretary General reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ongoing development initiatives aimed at modernising documentation processes in line with the best international practices. These efforts will serve to enhance service quality and foster operational excellence in government procurement and bidding.
The Tender Board urges all suppliers and contractors to update their information and business activities within the electronic tendering system. This will ensure their receipt of notifications related to tenders and auctions relevant to their respective fields and business activities, as part of the Board’s ongoing commitment to developing efficient and effective governance and management of government procurement and bidding.
