The Bahrain Tender Board recently held a workshop titled "The Role of the Tender Board in the Government Work System" for a number of department heads and officials from the government sector participating in the Kawader Programme. This programme is the fourth stage in the leadership development ladder within the National Programme for Government Leadership Development. The workshop took place at the Board’s headquarters in the Arcapita Building in Bahrain Bay.

During the workshop, His Excellency Eng. Jamal bin Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of the Tender Board, emphasized the Board’s dedication to supporting national programmes and initiatives aimed at qualifying a new generation of national cadres and young leaders, thus advancing the Kingdom's efforts towards achieving sustainable development goals.

The workshop explored the Tender Board's role within the government and private sectors, outlined the types of tenders available to government entities, and examined the challenges the Board faces in collaboration with government agencies and strategies to overcome them.

In addition, the workshop, led by Tender Board experts, focused on the Board’s objectives in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of government procurement and sales practices. It highlighted the regulatory mechanisms in place to ensure the highest levels of fairness and equal opportunity.

The workshop also underscored the Tender Board’s commitment to cooperating with government Purchasing Authorities, as well as local, regional, and international contractors and suppliers. This cooperation is aimed at fostering equality, transparency, and competitiveness in all government tendering, bidding, procurement, and sales processes.

It is worth noting that the Tender Board conducts several specialized lectures and workshops throughout the year, in partnership with various government bodies and private sector institutions, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises, to introduce the Board’s activities and operations, as well as the most prominent practices related to tendering, bidding, and awarding processes.
