His Excellency Eng. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of Bahrain Tender Board (BTB), affirmed that Bahraini youth have proven their high efficiency in various sectors and their capabilities, which have been acknowledged in local and international forums. He indicated that government support and attention to this category have enabled them to face various challenges, which they have been able to overcome with merit. Mr. Al Alawi noted the capabilities of Bahraini youth and highlighted the importance of preparing leaders who are capable of entrepreneurship, leading institutions and continuing to drive progress and development.
His Excellency’s statements came during his reception of the participants who qualified for the final stage of the national project “Lame’a”, which is organized for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. The participants included Mr. Ahmed Ashour from the Gulf Aluminum Rolling Mill Company (Garmco), Ms. Sawsan Abdullatif from SICO Bank and Ms. Rawan Ashour from Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), in addition to Ms. Nada Al Qassab, the mentor of the participating team, where the meeting discussed the topic of entrepreneurship.
During the meeting, Mr. Al Alawi praised the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, for his support and empowerment of Bahraini youth. He underlined that His Highness’s support has made the Kingdom of Bahrain a role model in youth empowerment and providing them with the necessary skills and abilities to hold senior positions and become entrepreneurs.
The Secretary General further explained that involving the youth in assuming responsibilities in various fields, including the business environment and the private sector, is one of the key pillars of Bahrain's development process. He also noted the significant contributions of Bahraini youth in achieving various accomplishments and propelling development towards further progress and prosperity.
For their part, the participants expressed their gratitude to Mr. Al Alawi for receiving them, discussing their ideas, and providing advice and guidance to greatly support their proposed project. They believe that their project will contribute to the development and formulation of successful policies in the field of entrepreneurship.
