In line with the efforts of the Bahrain Tender Board to enhance the readiness of suppliers and contractors to submit their bids and broaden their participation in government tenders, as well as to improve the procedures for organising and planning these activities in advance, His Excellency Mr Yaser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Chairman of Bahrain Tender Board, has issued Circular No. (3) of 2024 concerning the procurement plan. This circular represents a significant step in the Board’s ongoing endeavours to elevate government procurement processes in accordance with internationally recognised standards and best practices in this field.

In this context, the Chairman of Bahrain Tender Board expressed that the issuance of this circular aims to bolster the involvement of suppliers and contractors in government tenders. He emphasised that, grounded in the principles of efficiency and transparency in institutional operations, the Board is committed to adopting and implementing best practices in government procurement and tendering.

Mr Humaidan further elaborated that this commitment is reflected in the provision of value-added services to stakeholders, suppliers and contractors, while simplifying the tendering processes in a sustainable and institutional manner, in alignment with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which seeks to foster a more competitive and sustainable economy.

The purpose of this circular is to inform contractors and suppliers about the tender plans that will be launched in the coming year. This initiative supports them in optimising their resources and enables effective planning for participation in government tenders.

Additionally, the circular aims to encourage greater participation from suppliers and contractors in tenders, reaffirming the vital role of the private sector as a key partner in significantly contributing to sustainable development and boosting the national economy.

With regard to the positive implications for disposing entities, this procedure ensures pre-planning of needs, facilitates the obtaining of necessary approvals and expands the options available for these entities to secure bids that meet their requirements. This, in turn, enhances competitiveness in pricing and accelerates project completion.
