The Bahrain Tender Board (BTB) was recently awarded the prestigious Excellence Award in the “Values and Ethics in Procurement” category by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
The award was received by His Excellency Eng. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of the Tender Board, from Mr. Matt Howell, CEO of CIPS, during the CIPS Excellence Awards Conference and Ceremony (CIPS MENA) 2024, recently held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by over 1,000 participants from around the world, including experts and decision-makers in procurement and supply chain management from both the government and private sectors, as well as regional and international companies specialising in procurement.
H.E. the Secretary General hailed the achievement as a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to excellence in all fields, adding that it reflects the Board’s dedication to providing high-quality services that meet international standards in ethics and values. The award also underscores BTB’s commitment to upholding values and ethics in procurement and supply chain management, aligning with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
The CIPS MENA conference focused on innovative solutions in supply chain and procurement systems, sustainable supply chains, supporting local content and industry localisation, digital transformation in procurement, and building partnerships between procurement organisations in the private sector and government authorities.
The Awards recognised excellence in various categories, including Public Procurement Project of the Year, Leader of the Year, Best Supplier Relationship Management Initiative, Sustainable Procurement Project of the Year, Best Procurement Transformation Programme, and Best Use of Digital Technology. These awards are considered a benchmark of excellence in the field.
