In June 2023, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, issued Decree No. (56) for the year 2023, appointing the Membership of the Tender Board. Under this decree, His Excellency Mr. Yaser bin Ebrahim Humaidan, the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, was appointed as the Chairman of Bahrain Tender Board. Humaidan holds a Bachelor Degree in Finance from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, United States. He has worked in the banking sector for 19 years and has experience in investment management, banking laws and regulations, project financing strategies and investment portfolio management. His specialization lies in asset management, investment portfolio risk management, hedging strategies, and short-term strategic trading opportunities. He began working at Gulf International Bank (GIB), where he served as Assistant Vice President of the Fixed Income/Derivatives Unit 1995 to 2000. He was later appointed Vice President of the Investment Division from 2004 to 2008, then served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Investment Unit from 2008 to 2012. In 2011, Mr. Humaidan moved to Bahrain Bourse and was appointed as a member of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee until 2014. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the Governance Committee from 2014 to 2016. During the period 2017 to 2019, he was appointed as a member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba). Concurrently with the issuance of the Royal Decree appointing him as a member of the Shura Council for the fifth legislative term from 2018 to 2022, he served as a member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee. In June 2022, he was appointed as the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs through a royal decree.
